TF Card VS micro SD card: In the modern era, Smartphone has become the indispensable part of everyone’s life. In the past, mobile phones were used for communication but now these are capable to do other more things. Smartphones give the facility to store many things such as videos, documents, photos, audios and many more.

You can store your data on your Smartphone with the help of Memory Card. The memory card plays a vital role in Smartphones. It is also known as an electronic storage device where you store your digital information. The memory card is small in sizes.

It can be used in various devices that are video game consoles, laptops, computers, synthesizers, tablets, mobile phones, MP3 players, electronic keyboards, PDAs, digital cameras, etc. There are two types of memory cards that are: –

  • TF Card
  • Micro SD Card

What is TF Card?

The full form of TF Card is TransFlash Card. The SanDisk company introduced this in 2004. This card is considered as the world’s smallest memory card as the design of this card is compact and is equal to a fingernail.

It is a secure digital micro card. It is compatible with multiple devices such as PDA, Smartphones, Digital Camera, and iPod, etc. The TF Card has the access to transfer into SD Card with the help of Card Sleeve facility.

What is Micro SD Card?

Micro SD Card is also known as Secure Digital Memory Card. The Toshiba, Panasonic and US Sandisk and invented and developed Micro SD Card. You can use this card as a flash memory card in your device. It is a removable memory.

This technology was developed in 2005. The main purpose of this Micro SD Card is to store the data on your device. It is supported by various kinds of devices that are Smartphones, Digital Camera, and iPod and so on.

In recent times, these are also in various handheld GPS devices. You can also say that the Micro SD Card is an upgraded memory because it is based on the Semiconductor flash memory device.

Difference Between the TF Card & Micro SD Card

The memory cards are the best place where you can save your personal data as per your needs. These two cards are almost the same. Both of these cards have the same dimensions and specifications.

So they are completely compatible with each other. But there are some differences in between them. Now, we are going to discuss various types of differences that are mentioned below: –

#1. Volume

The volume of the SD card is more than the TF card. So the volume of Micro SD Card is 24 mm x 32 mm x 2.1 mm whereas the volume of TF Card is 15 mm x 11 mm x 1 mm.

#2. Non-Memory Jobs

 The Micro SD Card is capable to perform non-memory jobs because it supports the SDIO mode. The non-memory jobs include various types of activities that are GPS, Bluetooth, and NFC (Near Field Communication).

On the other hand, the TF Card has no ability to perform these types of non-memory jobs because it is not capable to support the SIDO mode.

#3. Availability of Memory Size

The size of the TF Card is available up to around 128 GB and SD Card is available in the size up to 2 TB.

#4. Security Switch

The Micro SD Card includes a switch that placed on the security segment. But the Trash SD Card does not contain any switch on it.

#5. Compatible with Multiple Storage Capacity

The Micro SD Card and TF card supports multiple storage capacities like 256 MB, 1 GB, 512 MB, 4 GB, 8 GB, 128 MB, 2 GB, 32 GB, and 16 GB. The 64 GB memory is supported by TF card whereas Micro SD Card is not able to support 64 GB memory storage capacity.

#6. Cost

The TF Card is costlier rather than the Micro SD Card.

#7. Size

The size of the Micro SD Card is quite smaller than the TF Card.

#8.Usage

Most of the mobile phones or Smartphones used the technology of Micro SD Card rather than the TF Card.
